We have now flown and reviewed this plane! Check it out!

What a one of a kind airplane! This thing looks very unique in its build and design. I have no clue when this is going to be released, but I can only assume it will come very soon. It looks amazing and believe me, I will be reviewing this bad boy!

Now please enjoy some preliminary video:

Kyosho Spitfire Maiden Video Print E-mail

Crazy Thumbs picked up a Kyosho Spitfire with a Saito 56 this past weekend at a local RC Airplane Swap Meet. I couldn't go to the meet and now I'm kicking myself seeing all the cool stuff the fellas came back with. The plane was in Ready-To-Fly condition and the only problem with it was that the Saito was old and hadn't been run in quite awhile. After tuning and tweaking he decided to take it up, and these were the results:

The plane flew beautifully! And super light on the wings, we were all seriously impressed. The Kyosho model is very sturdy as the 2nd time he took it up, it died (again) and he had to land it behind the trees. He was able to stay on the grass and although it was a hard landing, there was no damage. SWEET!

UPDATE:

The Mosquito has been flown, crashed, written and reviewed. Check it out here!

Hey everyone just wanted to give you a heads up that I have received the Parkzone UM Mosquito. Took it out of the box tonight and looked it over with Crazy Thumbs. Everything Looks really nice and ready to go and I can't wait to fly it. Some of my first impressions:

  • Really Nice Paint Scheme
  • Beautiful Counter-rotating Props
  • Plenty of battery space for a bigger (500mah) battery ---totally awesome
  • Heavier than other UMs, but WAY MORE POWER

Here is a few shots before I hit the sack. I hope to fly it tomorrow. We have been having a lot of rain, but in between the showers the weather is sunny and calm, I hope to catch a break tomorrow.

Upcoming reviews at rcairplanereviews! Print E-mail

Plenty of New planes are on the horizon here at rcairplanereviews! Now if I can just get to them all building them all :)

Upcoming for review in the next few weeks:

Airfield P-47

Dynam C-47

BlitzRcWorks F-16 w/thrust vectoring

SR-71 Blackbird

And a few more!

I pulled the Blackbird out of the box last night and was pleasantly surprised to find that it has retractable landing gear! I've been on a retract kick lately, desiring them for all of my planes (well the ones that are supposed to have them). I thought the SR-71 just had fixed landing gear but I was wrong. Sweet! Now I need to think about getting some more servos. Since I bought the Kit version I also realized that the wires on the ESCs are much too short to reach the battery through the long, sleek design of the Blackbird. I am going to have to do some soldering! I bought some edf units that will hopefully give the bird plenty of juice. We will see!

The F-16 would have already been flown and reviewed had I not busted the impeller. Fortunately a new one is on the way and I hope to have a maiden next weekend.

This weekend looks sunny and dry but windy and cold so I'm thinking it is a perfect weekend to get a couple of planes built and partially reviewed. Stay tuned for the fun!

Just tooling around the field on Sunday. Tried to line up the cubs in front of the extra for some shots, they got in their a few times. It was cold, but a lot of fun! It is hard to hold an aerobatic airplane slow and steady while filming, maybe next time I'll put the camera on something a little more docile.
