Where is Spring? Print E-mail
Sunday, 01 April 2012 19:21

Just wanted to write a quick update to say...not much is happening. I think January and February were nicer than the month of March around here. We've seen nothing but wind and rain. My E-flite Hurricane is sitting here actually collecting dust as I wait to finally maiden her. As of now the weather looks fantastic for next weekend so I'm hoping I can take advantage and put some planes in the air. It's been nearly a month so I'll be sure to have the cameras rolling in case my thumbs forget which way is up and which way is down.

In the meantime I have been taking my time trying to paint the Multiplex Dogfighter. I wanted something a bit different and so far it is looking good although I have some difficult, detailed areas still left to paint. I've also been impatiently waiting for the upcoming Parkzone Albatross D. Va and the Micro Spitfire both due out in late May. A reader recently emailed me and let me know that the new FMS Focke-Wulf is sweet which is great news! I can't wait to fly/review the FW-190 and the P-38. Should be another fun summer!

It has been a long time coming but the E-Flite Hawker Hurricane has finally been released and is in my hands. Truth be told, I received the plane over a week ago but with all of the wind and rain I haven't been able to fly it. The good news is the paint looks excellent, much darker than I had anticipated and the assembly was completely while watching 30 minutes of TV....in other words, it is extremely easy to put together! I am excited to fly the Hurricane will have to wait until the weather clears.

Since the start of this site I have wanted to have comments or an easier way for everyone to give me some feedback or have some open discussion about the planes. I kept putting it off and putting it off until today when I finally grabbed the comment cow by the horns and said "we've got to get some comments up in this website!". It was actually very easy and I'm sad I didn't implement them earlier! Anyways, leave a comment or don't, the choice is yours! :) But do be respectful to others and let's have a good time!

Well here was my first go of the E-flite Hypertaxi. Didn't go so well!

I've glued the pieces back together but haven't given it another go.

Merry Christmas and Happy One Year Anniversary! Print E-mail

Hello all!

I hope that everyone is having a wonderful holiday. Here are rcairplanereviews we are celebrating our 1 year anniversary of being live on the Internet! The site is still a work in progress and I can only hope that it grows as much as it did this last year. I set a goal to fly, write and review 20 different planes before the one year mark and I have definitely achieved that...woohoo!

Things may have seemed a little quiet around here as  of late but that's because I have been busy building planes and not being able to fly them.

I have two videos for your viewing enjoyment

The first is the maiden flight and crash of the Hobby Lobby J5

The second is the maiden flight (and no crash) of the Dynam AT-6 Texan

The reviews for these planes are currently being written and edited.

I hope everyone has a wonderful New Year and may 2012 be the best year yet!

Thanks for stopping by :)
